INTERDISCIPLINARITY, MULTICULTURALISM, AND WORK WITH THE PATIENT IN A NON-STANDARD SITUATION IN THE CONTEXT OF CONDUCTING DIDACTIC CLASSES IN THE FIELD OF MEDICAL SCIENCES AND HEALTH SCIENCES IN CENTERS OF MEDICAL SIMULATION
Vice-Dean for Non-Medical Health Studies of the Faculty of Public Policies, has been working at Silesian University in Opava since 2017. She graduated in general nursing and midwifery, and subsequently studied nursing and anthropology. In her doctoral and habilitation theses, she dealt with the issue of sexuality in chronically ill women. She is currently involved with primary prevention in gynecology and obstetrics.
Born in Ostrava, has been working at Silesian University in Opava since 2007. She has been teaching since 1998, when she worked at the Ostrava Mariánské Hory Secondary School and VOŠZ as a professional teacher and head of the course of Certified Occupational Therapist. She teaches occupational therapy and ergonomics. Her scope are people with disabilities, both physical and mental. She is involved with seniors, people with dementia and adaptations of the environment for people of all ages, including design of compensatory aids for self-service and ADL training
Born in Frýdek – Místek, has been working at Silesian University in Opava since 2019. She works as a university teacher, but also as a midwife. She has been working as a midwife since 2009. She has professional experience in the departments of the puerperium and in the delivery room. She now works at Silesian University in Opava, where she is involved in theoretical and practical teaching of future midwives. The subjects taught include midwifery, health education, research, professional practice.
Born in Vítkov, has been working at Silesian University in Opava since 2019. She has been teaching since 2016, from 2001 to 2016 she worked at the children’s ward as a station nurse for the ICU. Her scope are area of sick children and the education of a healthy lifestyle and the teaching of nursing procedures. She is involved with sick and handicapped children, fulfilling their needs and nursing care.
Born in Ostrava, has been working at Silesian University in Opava since June 2018, as a head of the Development and Project Management Department at the Faculty of Public Policies since January 2021. She studied Regional development and European integration at the University of Economics in Prague and graduated in 2005. She is involved in several Silesian University projects co-financed from the ESF and ERDF and other sources of funding.

The University of Silesia in Opava, a member of the European University Association, is one of the five best universities established after 1989. Since its inception, the institution provides students with comprehensive education in the field of humanities and economics. The Institute of Nursing at the Faculty of Public Policy of the University of Silesia in Opava is equipped with nursing skills rooms – a simulation center. It is intended for practicing nursing skills by students in the area of general nursing. It consists of two separate rooms equipped with the most modern phantoms for practical training in the implementation of nursing procedures. You can train on phantoms, among others administration of intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, puncture of the main vein, care for access to the central veins, treatment of wounds, tracheotomy care, insertion of a gastric tube, catheterization of men and women, treatment of the respiratory tract – endotracheal intubation, auscultation of the heart and lungs, per rectum examination, examination breasts, etc. Other models available at the center include obstetric, premature and newborn models. Students also gain practical skills in caring for a newborn using several infant models that can be programmed for a variety of purposes to reflect the needs of infants. Some of the most modern phantoms have pregnancy simulation models as well as neonatal models that can be computer synchronized and programmed to play back various obstetric emergencies. The offer also includes a „simulation apartment”, fully furnished and equipped simulation rooms, used by students to acquire skills in the provision of care for disabled people, including wheelchair patients (at home). The apartment has been designed in a way that is adapted to the needs of users with disabilities and reflects the real layout of the home rooms for wheelchair users.
Students also have ADL training equipment at their disposal. A simulation room for intensive therapy and first aid classes. The Center offers a state-of-the-art resuscitation simulator. Certain standard procedures can be used during training, including CPR, airway patency, defibrillation, vein access, reflex assessment, etc. This is a room for relaxation, patient silence, facilitating verbal and non-verbal communication, and facilitating the adaptation process. and socialization, cognitive and emotional support, sensory stimulation and enrichment of the environment.
One of the key assets of the University of Silesia in Opava is its new audiovisual (multimedia) production center. Thanks to the specialized, advanced equipment of the center and well-equipped simulation rooms, the University of Silesia can guarantee a high level of instructional materials, processed both in audiovisual and written form. Experience and professional multimedia equipment is an added value for the project, allowing the achievement of the assumed goals at the highest level.
